- First-fill Rancio Sec hogshead finish
A 10 year old Benrinnes distilled in 2013 and bottled by Dràm Mòr Group. It matured in a single bourbon cask and was then finished in a first-fill Rancio Sec hogshead.
Rancio Sec is an oxidatively aged wine from Roussillon in France, made from Grenache or Maccabeu grapes, fermented with natural yeasts and aged for at least five years in partly filled casks or glass demijohns.
The nose is soft and sweet, with yellow fruit, peach and apricot. The palate is deeper and darker, with milk chocolate, apricot jam, yellow sultanas soaked in spirit and a hint of herbs. The finish is full and warming, with spice and gentle chilli, long and lingering.
