This Benrinnes is a single cask Speyside single malt, bottled by The Old Friends under the name Robinson Crusoe & Friday. It was distilled in September 2015 and matured for ten years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. It was bottled in January 2026 at a cask strength of 55.9% in a 70cl bottle, and the cask gave 274 bottles. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
It is part of the Summer 2026 release from The Old Friends, whose names are dedicated to well-known pairs of friends.
The nose is led by ripe dark fruit and pronounced sherry sweetness, with spice, caramel, toffee and fine nutty hints. On the palate, fruity sweetness meets spice and butterscotch, balanced by dry wood. The finish is long and pleasantly dry.
