Benrinnes Grand Crescendo is a 21-year-old single malt in the Diageo Special Releases 2024. Eight years in refill casks were followed by thirteen years in wine-seasoned casks of American and European oak and in rejuvenated casks with charred ends. It was bottled at 55.4%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Ripe orchard and stone fruit, caramel and toffee give a fruity, sweet character, with spice and a light saltiness for contrast. The nose is soft at first, then richer, with baked apple, pear and peach. The palate is firm and full-bodied with a dense texture, and the long finish ends dry and spicy.
