Benrinnes – 43 Year Old 1978/2021 Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Refill American Hogshead #1636 (54.5%)

This Benrinnes is a 43-year-old Speyside single malt from the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection. It was filled into a refill American hogshead on 27 March 1978 and matured there until the end of 2021, when 158 bottles were drawn at a cask strength of 54.5% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose is lemon and pineapple with dried apricot and brown sugar. Pepper and marzipan lead the palate, with toasted oak and a trace of tobacco. The long finish carries toasted notes.
