Benrinnes Madeira Cask Finish - Cask Craft - Murray McDavid (70cl, 44.5%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, finished in Madeira wine barriques from Justino's. Murray McDavid selected it for Batch 3 (MAD-03) of its Cask Craft Collection, which is about maturing Scotch single malts in different cask types. It is bottled at 44.5% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Cereal, orchard fruit and fresh sweet pastry form the base, with blood orange, dried fruit and gentle oak spice from the Madeira finish. The nose offers redcurrants, honeyed cereal and orange blossom. The palate brings fruity caramel and sweet spice, and the finish leaves dried fruit.
