This is the 10 year old single malt from Benromach, bottled at 43% and sold in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, which brings plenty of dried fruit, fresh vanilla and some smoky notes.
The nose is dry, with barley, malt, oak and dry pine, then sweet spices, a hint of prune from the sherry cask and maple fudge. The palate is malty and slightly herbal, with a little fruit, grass and ground ginger. The finish is bittersweet, with ginger and dry sherry, becoming almost hoppy.
