Benromach 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery in Forres, matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle.
The sherry casks bring ripe fruit, spice and sweetness, alongside the gentle smoke associated with the Benromach house style.
The nose offers red apple, dried fruit, orange peel, creamy malt and dark honey, with a little cinnamon and delicate smoke. On the palate come sherried fruit, sultanas, dark chocolate and caramel. The finish is long, with dried fruit, chocolate, spice and a wisp of smoke.
