A 15-year-old Speyside single malt from Benromach, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
It matured in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks, each used for the first time for Scotch whisky. The style is lightly peated, with the smoke sitting alongside the fruit and cask notes rather than leading them.
On the nose, sweet toffee comes first, then cracked black pepper and peat smoke, with berries, dark chocolate and dried banana later. The palate is creamy and sweet, with ripe apples, charred oak, dark chocolate, toasted malt and orange peel. The finish is medium in length and creamy, with gentle smoke and dried fruit.
