Benromach 15 Years Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43%. It is made in the old Speyside style, with a little more smoke than the region usually suggests, and the standard malt is peated to 10-12 ppm.
Benromach was founded in 1898 and closed in 1983. Gordon & MacPhail bought what remained in 1993, and production restarted in 1998.
The nose is Christmas cake, cocoa, ginger biscuits and charcoal. The palate has many layers of Christmas spice and mandarin, with a touch of menthol and honey mixed with beeswax.
