This is a 40 year old Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, distilled in 1979 and selected and bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 42.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Four decades of maturation have brought mature orchard fruit, dried fruit, polished oak and warming spice.
The nose is mature apples and pears with dried fruit, honeyed malt and old oak. The palate is rich, with stewed orchard fruit, dried apricot, caramel, toasted nuts and mature oak. The finish is long, with dried fruit, gentle spice and soft malt sweetness.
