Berry Bros & Rudd Small Batch Teaninich 2009 Batch No 1 (70cl, 46%)

This is a Teaninich single malt from the Highlands, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 by Berry Bros & Rudd as Batch No 1 of its Small Batch series. It was matured in hogsheads and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, unchill-filtered and of natural colour. The outturn is 1134 bottles. Teaninich stands in Alness, north of Inverness, and began life as an illicit distillery in 1817. The nose is perfumed, with passion fruit, a touch of lime and polished oak. Vanilla, yellow fruit and honey lead the palate, with some toasty influence, and a little liquorice brings in a graceful finish.
