Bespoken Spirits – 'Special Batch' Whiskey from Bourbon Mash (Magenta Label) (37.5cl, 45%)

Bespoken Spirits Special Batch is a whiskey made from a bourbon mash, bottled at 45% in a 37.5cl half bottle. The Magenta Label is a lighter variation on the producer's Original recipe. It starts from a mellowed, fruitier un-aged whiskey, which is combined with hand-selected staves seasoned for two years. The staves were chosen to let the floral and fruity side of the spirit come through, and the spirit and wood are married in a refiner, so that maturation takes days rather than years. The colour is light gold. The nose offers rose petal, cranberry and pineapple over baking spice, and the palate brings soft caramel, cocoa and lemon zest, finishing with a touch of cardamom and clove.
