Big Peat 10 Years Old is a blended malt from the independent bottler Douglas Laing, released for the tenth anniversary of Big Peat and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited anniversary edition, part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series.
It combines only Islay single malts, among them Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen, with a minimum age of ten years. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is lemon and green apple with smoked barley, wet earth and sea air. The palate mixes peat smoke, citrus, pear, a little pineapple and sea salt. The finish is medium to long, with smoke, bonfire ash and a dry close.
