Big Peat Fèis Ìle 2018 is a limited edition blended malt from Douglas Laing, released for Fèis Ìle 2018, Islay's festival of malt and music. It is bottled at 48%. The run was 500 cases, and it came in a commemorative tube with a set of stickers for personalising the bottle.
The nose brings dried seaweed, barbecued meats and golden syrup. The palate has smoked barley, damp leather, soot, lemon peel and sea salt, moving on to streaky bacon, caramel and charred oak.
The finish is long and smoky, with a lingering coastal character.
