Big Peat Small Batch Blended Malt (46%)

Big Peat is a small batch blended malt from Douglas Laing, bottled at 46%. It is a vatting of Islay malts that includes whisky from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. The whisky is natural in colour and non-chill-filtered. Peated malt gives it a bold, smoky character. The nose opens with salt and a clean, fresh note, then dried and malted grain with smoke behind. On the palate come ash, sweet tar, beach and chimney smoke. The finish is long, with salt, liquorice and more ash.
