Bivrost Jormungandr Loke Series 02 (50cl, 50%)

Bivrost Jormungandr is a Norwegian single malt in the Loke Series, named after the Midgard Serpent of Norse mythology. It comes in a 50cl bottle at 50% ABV, is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring. The whisky was matured for around six years in the Arctic, first in French Premier Grand Cru wine casks and then finished in Creme Brulee casks, made from oak seasoned with toasted maple syrup. The release is limited to 1919 numbered bottles. The nose offers soft red berries, stewed orchard fruit, vanilla custard and caramelised sugar. On the palate come raspberry compote, red plum, burnt sugar, toasted almond and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with caramel, dry oak and a mineral freshness.
