Nornir is a limited edition Norwegian single malt from Bivrost, made in collaboration with the Dutch artist Gealdyr. It brings together Arctic whisky, Norse mythology and music, and 1,500 individually numbered bottles were released.
The whisky was first matured in ex-rye casks, then finished in maple syrup and Amontillado casks with a small amount of Amburana. Gealdyr chose the final expression personally. Each bottle carries a unique QR code that unlocks Gealdyr's Nornir EP and an exclusive track, Bivrost.
Maple syrup and vanilla lead on the nose, followed by rye spice, toasted oak, dried fruit and roasted nuts. The palate adds maple caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg, and the finish is long and warming, with walnut and a last note of maple.
