Black Bush Special Old is an Irish whiskey from the 1980s, pale gold in colour.
The nose is grainy and nutty and fresh, with the banana notes the name is known for, a little apple and grape juice, some toasted cake, hints of mastic and a very faint smokiness. It is round and very clean.
The palate is fruity and direct, with bananas, dried pears, coconut and cornflakes. The finish is medium long, still fruity and slightly caramelly.
