Bladnoch 29 Year Old Bicentennial Release is a single malt made to mark 200 years of Bladnoch Distillery. Just 200 bottles were filled, each numbered by hand and presented in a gold plated bottle. It is bottled at 41.2% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky comes from two casks distilled in 1988. It matured first in Oloroso sherry casks, then spent a final 18 months in Moscatel casks. It is natural colour.
The nose offers rich old sherry, honey, beeswax, orange and fruitcake. The palate is soft and silky, with dark chocolate, ginger and spicy citrus, and the finish is long, warming and honeyed.
