Bladnoch 30 Year Old is a Lowland single malt from Scotland's southernmost distillery, in Galloway. Bladnoch was established in 1817 and revitalised in recent decades under new ownership.
This bottling was matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso and ex-Moscatel sherry casks. It is a deep golden amber in colour.
The nose brings dried apricots, nutmeg, Seville orange zest and delicate floral notes. On the palate there is marzipan, almonds and citrus, with a subtle sweetness and nutty richness. The body is elegant yet full, and the finish is light, floral and lingering, with a gentle peppery warmth.
