Bladnoch 8 Year Old is a Lowland single malt from Scotland's southernmost distillery, founded in 1817. It was matured twice in fresh Californian red wine casks and bottled at 46.7% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The red wine casks give a rich, fruity malt. It is described with strawberries and cream, jam and fine herbs, underlined by polished wood and nutmeg.
The nose has strawberries and cream with herbs and pine cones. The palate is rich and complex, sweet, with strawberry jam, polished oak and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming.
