Bladnoch – Alinta (70cl, 47%)

Bladnoch Alinta is a heavily peated Lowland single malt, distilled in 2009 under the distillery's previous owners and bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. It has no added colour and is non-chill-filtered. The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill PX sherry casks. Alinta is an Indigenous Australian word meaning fire and flames, a nod to the notes of campfire embers. The nose is sweet with light smoke, bacon and campfire, wine notes of cherry and dried fruit, and a touch of rum. The palate is soft, with dried fruit, cherry, plum and almond pastry before the smoke arrives. The finish is soft and long, with fruity sweetness and growing smoke.
