This is a peated single malt from Bladnoch, and the first peated Bladnoch since the distillery was taken over by the Australian David Prior. Alinta is a word from an Aboriginal Australian language meaning fire and flames. It was matured in PX sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks.
The nose has smoky ice cream, delicate floral hints, fruit and sweet oak. On the palate come campfire notes and smoke, toasted almonds and raisins wrapped in white chocolate. The finish is long and lingering, with sweet smoke.
