Bladnoch Alinta is a Lowland single malt made from peated malted barley, so it carries smoke, which is unusual for the region. This Reserve edition matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which bring dried fruit and dark caramel and a deep amber colour.
The nose joins smouldering smoke with the heavy sweetness of dark syrup and raisins. On the palate, intense PX sweetness meets spicy smoke, with dates, dark chocolate and a fine touch of liquorice.
