Bladnoch Kirkcowan is a Lowland single malt from Bladnoch distillery, one of the oldest still working in Scotland. It is named after the village of Kirkcowan, close to the distillery, and is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle without added colouring.
It is matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks. The nose is described as green apple, floral honey, vanilla and a touch of citrus. The palate brings ripe pear, caramel, gentle spice and a hint of nuts from the sherry, and the finish is medium to long and warm, with sweet oak and lingering vanilla.
