Bladnoch – Samsara (70cl, 46.7%)

Bladnoch Samsara is a Lowland single malt from the Bladnoch distillery in Galloway, bottled at 46.7% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour, and it belongs to the Classic Collection. Whiskies from bourbon casks and from Californian red wine casks are married together. The name means rebirth, a nod to the fresh start of the distillery. The nose is a strong aroma of stewed fruit, with plums and grapes and a light touch of vanilla. On the palate, plums meet orange blossom and sweet grapes, with faint citrus and vanilla behind. The long finish leaves gently sweet notes of ripe orange and plum.
