Blair Athol – 12 Years Old 2008 Murray McDavid (46%)

This Blair Athol 12 Year Old is an independent single malt from Murray McDavid, bottled at 46%. It is the first time Blair Athol has appeared in the Murray McDavid range. Its sweetness comes from bourbon casks, and it was then matured for a further 20 months in freshly emptied Oloroso sherry casks. The bottling is an outturn of 1,506 bottles. The nose offers caramel and almonds with sweet popcorn. On the palate, pleasant baking spices unfold alongside malt and vanilla from the oak. The finish is long, with dried fruit and oak.
