Blair Athol 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The colour is a polished mahogany.
The nose combines muscatel grapes and Madeira wine, with dried apricots and molasses caramel to the fore, and a background of sulphur and even a little tar.
On the palate it is rich and enveloping, well balanced, with a body from medium to full that stays clear of cloying. Some sweetness appears once the acidity has passed, and the finish is dry.
