A 13-year-old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, bottled by Darkness, the independent bottling arm of Atom Brands, which specialises in sherry finishes in small, hand-coopered octave casks.
This one comes from a micro batch of Oloroso sherry octaves and was released in early 2023 in a 50cl bottle at 51.4% ABV, in a run of just over 100 bottles.
The nose offers shortbread, chocolate and almond brittle. On the palate there is charred pineapple, burnt sugar and butterscotch lifted by fresh fruit, and the finish moves through synthetic jelly bean fruitiness into oaky spice.
