Blair Athol – 1997 26 Year Old Old Malt Cask (70cl, 50%)

A 26 year old single cask Blair Athol, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2023 by Hunter Laing in its Old Malt Cask series. It is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, and 290 bottles were filled. Hunter Laing is a family company that has made its name with single cask bottlings. Its Old Malt Cask range draws on casks chosen by the master blender with a tasting panel. The nose has berries, nuts and milk chocolate. The palate brings marzipan icing, green herbs and salted caramel, and the finish is long, with a gentle hint of smoke.
