A 12-year-old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 by Douglas Laing for its Old Particular range, in a 70cl bottle. It has no added colouring and was not chill filtered. The whisky came from cask DL17761, a refill bourbon barrel that yielded 280 bottles. It is bottled at the Old Particular standard strength of 48.4% ABV, equivalent to the old 85 proof. Blair Athol is more often found in sherry casks. The nose is buttery and rich, with stone fruits, baking spice and soft brown sugar. The palate is thick and creamy, with tropical fruit, barley and wood shavings. The finish is long, with apricot jam.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
