This is a small batch single malt from Blair Athol Distillery, near Pitlochry in Perthshire, bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd in a 70cl bottle and labelled 2012.
It was matured in refill hogsheads, which lets the distillate come through clearly in the glass.
The nose shows stewed apple, vanilla and a touch of spice. The palate is full in texture and follows with similar apple notes, adding a nutty nod and a small hint of wood smoke.
