This is an 11-year-old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, bottled by Best Dram from a single second-fill ex-Caol Ila hogshead. It was distilled on 15 September 2013 and bottled on 28 May 2025 at 56%, yielding 318 bottles of 70cl. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The hogshead previously held Caol Ila single malt, and it brings sweet peat smoke alongside the creamy, fruity character of the whisky.
The nose has oats and caramelised apple with butter cake, a hint of lemon zest and a restrained smoky note. The palate is creamy, almost viscous, with vanilla-sweet peat smoke, butter cake and light tannins. The long finish moves from sweet to spicy and ends with a peaty echo.
