This is a 22 year old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range for Germany. It comes from a single sherry butt, from 1997, and was bottled at 52.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 594 bottles.
Old Particular whiskies are non-chill-filtered and bottled straight from the cask.
The nose opens with oak spice, toasted marshmallow, buttery biscuits and sweet barley. The palate is warming, with woody spice, autumn fruits and a slightly sweet, earthy character. The finish is long, with fresh red fruits, a touch of spice and creamy caramel candy.
