Blanton's Black Label for Japan is a bourbon made for the Japanese market and bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is a special edition, made with the Buffalo Trace high-rye mash bill #2.
The bourbon is matured in new charred American oak for a minimum of eight years, which is longer than a standard Blanton's bottling.
The flavour opens with honey, toasted caraway, dried apricots and cherries, alongside herbs such as rosemary, with cinnamon and cloves. With time, liquorice, pineapple, vanilla and toasted oak come through.
