Blanton's Gold Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey (70cl, 51.5%)

A Kentucky straight bourbon from Blanton's, bottled at 51.5% (103 proof) in a 70cl bottle. Each bottle comes from a single American white oak barrel from Warehouse H, rather than a vmarried blend of barrels. Blanton's was the first whiskey in the USA to be released as a single barrel. The Gold edition is described as one of the smoothest and most complex Blanton's bottlings. The bottle's design, with a horse and rider stopper, was inspired by Colonel Albert Blanton, a keen horseman, and the whiskey is made at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. The nose has subtle wood, dried fruit, spice and floral notes with a hint of chocolate. The palate brings plums, cloves and clear chocolate. The finish is long, with vanilla, nuts and wood.
