Boann – Marsala Cask

Boann Marsala Cask is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Boann Distillery. It was first matured in heavily charred American white oak casks that previously held bourbon, then finished in Superiore and Fine Marsala butts of French oak. The mash bill combines malted and unmalted barley with oats and rye, all grown in Ireland. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is subtly spiced, with resinous bark and orange, fresh-cut grass and floral honey. The palate is rich and viscous, opening with sweet jam before peppermint and oak spice take over. The finish is long, with cinnamon and cloves.
