Bobby's Schiedam Jenever (75cl, 38%)

Bobby's Schiedam Jenever is a Dutch jenever, distilled at the Herman Jansen family distillery in Schiedam. It is built on a malt-wine base and bottled at 38% in a 75cl bottle. The recipe comes from the Indonesian Pinang Raci spice blend used by the founders' grandfather, who emigrated to the Netherlands in 1951. Juniper, cinnamon, cardamom, cubeb pepper, lemongrass and ginger are used, with no additives, sugars or extractions. The nose offers malt, juniper, candied ginger, lemongrass and roasted almonds. The palate brings oatmeal, fresh citrus, toasted hazelnut, wheat bread, cardamom, ginger root and cubeb pepper. The finish is medium in length, tingling and warming. It can be drunk neat or on ice.
