This is an aged malt-spirit genever from HJ Notaris in Schiedam, bottled at 47% in a 75cl bottle. The Rome Edition was created with the Jerry Thomas Project of Rome, whose team chose their favourite casks from the Notaris warehouse.
It blends 10-year-old and 15-year-old Notaris malt spirits with a one-off malted rye distillation. Notaris carries the municipal Seal of Schiedam, and the distillery behind it dates from 1777.
The character is smoky, malty and intense, with vanilla, caramel, apple peel, quince and dark chocolate. The finish is tight and persistent.
