An 11-year-old Islay single malt from Bowmore, matured in ex-bourbon and Spanish oak sherry casks and bottled at 40%. It is made without colouring and without chill-filtration.
The American oak bourbon casks are said to add creamy, sweet notes, while the sherry casks bring fruit and spice. Bowmore was founded in 1779 on the shore of Loch Indaal, and its No. 1 Vaults warehouse lies partly below sea level.
The nose is described as pronounced smoke with dark chocolate, walnut brittle and a hint of sourdough bread.
