Bowmore Essence of Islay is an 11 year old Islay single malt Scotch whisky from the Travel Exclusive Series. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and Spanish oak sherry casks, and made at a distillery established in 1779. It is intended to capture the maritime character of the island.
The style balances subtle peat smoke with warm spices and a soft sweetness.
