Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured for twelve years in a combination of ex-bourbon casks of American oak and Oloroso sherry casks of European oak. It is bottled at 40%, chill-filtered and coloured, and this version comes in the bottle design introduced in 2025.
The distillery lies on Loch Indaal, and its barley is dried over peat smoke.
On the nose, fresh lemon and heather honey meet gentle, earthy smoke. The palate is warming, with juicy fresh fruit and dark chocolate. The finish is long, leaving a full, sweet smoky note.
