Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from Bowmore, the oldest licensed distillery on Islay, and is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.
The whisky has a light honey colour and a medium body, with peat smoke and a maritime character running alongside fruit.
The nose brings lemon shortbread, sea-air minerality and gentle peat smoke. On the palate are salty brine, honey, lemon zest and charred wood, and the smooth finish blends sweetness with lingering smoke.
