Bowmore 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, part of the distillery's Sherry Oak Collection. It was matured for 12 years in a combination of European oak Oloroso sherry casks and American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
The sherry wood brings sweet fruit and spice, alongside a moderate coastal peat smoke and maritime saltiness.
The nose is typically described as vanilla caramel, red berries and marzipan, with dried fruit, cinnamon and gentle peat smoke. On the palate come peaches in syrup, dark chocolate, toasted almonds, cinnamon and clove. The finish is long, with baking spice, citrus peel and a wisp of smoke.
