Bowmore – 12 Year Old (40%)

Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt at 40% ABV. Bowmore distillery was founded in 1779 by David Simson on the shore of Loch Indaal. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks of American oak together with Oloroso sherry casks of European oak. Part of the malt is still made on the distillery's own malting floors, turned by hand and dried over a peat fire. Maturation takes place in the No. 1 Vaults, which sit partly below sea level. The character combines well-integrated peat smoke with zesty orange, heather honey and dark chocolate.
