Bowmore 12 Years Old is an Islay single malt from the 1980s, in a 1 litre bottle at 43% ABV.
The nose is juicy with green apples, ripe peaches and pears, a hint of mango or passion fruit, lavender and violets, vanilla and heather honey, with light peat smoke like a sea breeze. The palate is soft and silky, light to medium in body, with apple, caramel, well-matured oak, a little salt and nuts. The finish is medium to long and pleasantly dry, with sweet oak spice, light ash and a gentle herbal bitterness.
