This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 43% ABV. It spent 12 years in bourbon barrels and a further 3 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, which add dark chocolate, dried fruit and warming spice to the distillery's peat smoke.
The nose offers raisins, toffee, dark chocolate and warm peat smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with sherried fruit, spice, oak and sweet malt alongside a subtle smokiness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, dark cocoa and dried fruit.
