Bowmore 12 Years Old is a single malt bottled at 40% ABV. It is described as the heart of the Bowmore range, with coastal notes and a gentle peat, and a balance that brings out a floral side.
On the nose, coastal smoke and ash give way to bergamot, orange peel, lemon slices and a little hay, before it turns more floral and heather smoke competes with the ash. The palate is round and at first honeyed, with vanilla, perfumed smoke and coastal notes, then dark peat, blossom and an oily sweetness. The finish is smoky and long, with sea mist, dry grass, a hint of ash and citrus.
