Bowmore – 15 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask (70cl, 43%)

This is a 15-year-old Islay single malt from Bowmore, part of the Sherry Oak Collection introduced in 2024. It matures for at least 15 years in a combination of European oak Oloroso sherry casks and former bourbon casks of American oak. A finish in European oak casks previously filled with Oloroso follows. It is bottled at 43%. First-fill Oloroso casks add sweetness, with dark dried fruit, cocoa and gentle spice, set against restrained peat smoke. Cocoa beans, juicy currants and sweet dates come through on the nose, with cinnamon, dark chocolate and light smoke. On the palate are liquorice root, cedar, toffee with dark syrup and clove. The finish is rich and woody, with sweet spice.
