A fifteen-year-old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 43% ABV without chill-filtration or added colouring. It matured in ex-bourbon casks and then took on an Oloroso sherry cask finish.
Bowmore was founded in 1779 by David Simson and is described as the oldest legal distillery on Islay. It stands on the shore of Loch Indaal, and its No. 1 Vaults lie partly below sea level.
The whisky is described as having raisins, dates and dark chocolate alongside cinnamon, toffee and cedar, with Bowmore's peat smoke present but well integrated.
